Our story began in June 1995, when Kevin Clay, a 23-year old (soon to be) 2nd Lieutenant in the US Air Force collapsed while swimming at an East Carolina University pool. Kevin had suffered suffered a cerebral hemorrhage two weeks before his commissioning as an officer. He fell into a 29-day coma and emerged paralyzed on his right side, unable to walk or speak coherently.

Don’t worry, this story is not a tragedy, but a story of resilience. After two years of intense therapy, Kevin, the son of a career U.S. Marine, relearned to walk and speak. By 2008, despite his physical challenges, Kevin had built a successful career in Fortune 500 companies, discovering his passion for Lean Six Sigma. His expertise in data mining, SQL, and VBA programming made him highly valued, but he sought to share his skills more broadly.

With his wife’s support, Kevin transitioned from corporate roles to consulting as a contractor for Lean Six Sigma consulting firms. Over eight years, he worked with hundreds of companies all over the globe, enduring a grueling travel schedule. With the birth of his first of three daughters, Kevin knew he had to stop working in his business and start working on ohis business. That was the best choice he has ever made.

Today, Six Sigma Development Solutions, Inc. (SSDSI) is a leading Lean Six Sigma training, certification, and deployment company based in Dallas, Texas. SSDSI has collaborated with over 400 organizations worldwide, supported by 50+ Black Belt and Master Black Belt mentors and 48 global training centers. Kevin, his wife Lisa, and their team manage operations from Pensacola, Florida grooming their three daughters to help lead the company to new heights.
